How you can help

Reporting the marine wildlife that you see can make a big contribution to managing the EMS. Carmarthen Bay & Estuaries EMS covers a large area and, as with the marine environment in general, there are still many things we do not know about the marine life that lives here.  If you are out and about on the coast, on the sea or under the sea, you can help improve our understanding about the wildlife of this area by letting us know what you discover.

Please email any interesting pictures or reports via email at cbeems.officer@gmail.com or via the contact page.

Other projects and initiatives which you can get involved with are:

  • Report your marine and coastal sightings:
           – In south-east Wales (Swansea/Gower) here.
           – In west Wales (Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire) here
  • Report injured marine wildlife (seals, dolphins, whales, porpoise) here.
  • Report stranded cetaceans or turtles (alive and dead) here.
  • Report your seagrass sightings here.
  • Report any marine invasive non-native species here.
  • Report shark and ray eggcases here.
